Apache’s High Clearance Rear Bumper for the 5th Gen 4Runner is built for those who desire to achieve a greater departure angle and increase the ground clearance on their 4runner. Our High Clearance Rear Bumper sits level with the frame allowing for maximum clearance to help you tackle steep and rocky terrain. Our bumper is built for the adventurer who desires a strong, yet light weight, rear bumper that built to tackle any terrain!

– Linch Pin Swing Out clasp(s) – Used to secure the Swing-Outs in the closed position.  Latch seen in pictured dual swing out model will not be included, we found that the linch pin set up was easier to operate and keep secure.

– Secure, Multi-Point, Frame Brackets. Mounts to your frame with 16 Grade 8 Bolts. No Drilling Required. Our mounting system utilizes 14 pre-drilled factory threaded holes, and 2 non threaded holes.

Ships Bare Steel – We Recommend lightly sanding the bumper and using a metal etching primer, followed by a few coats of your top coat.  We recommend using a paint you can easily touch up, so that you can easily repair trail damage / scratches. 

Powder coat is not currently available as an option. 


Note: Use the pictures as a guide, We have been in the prototyping phase and have made some variations to the models produced originally. The Most Recent Bumper manufactured with the hinges we will be using and such is the picture of the Half Swing out with the Jerry Can Mount. If you have any questions feel free to ask. 

  • The Base of the Bumper is the same.
  • We have decided to use the wrap around – locking hinge system as we feel its a more reliable option. When looking at the pictures, This is the hinge used on the model with the single swing / jerry can mount.
  • We have decided to use a linch pin locking system as seem in the single swing / jerry can mount bumper.
  • To keep things simple, the Jerry Can mount will be offered in the dual configuration only.


Options: (Swing outs cannot be added later as the hinges are welded to the base) 

Flat-Top (No Swing Out or Tire Carrier) 

Single Half Swing out w/ Tire Carrier and Lock-Open Heavy Duty Hinges – We decided on a Half Swing Out so that it may be opened with a trailer attached. 

Dual Swing Outs w/ Single Tire Carrier Lock-Open Heavy Duty Hinges (There is not enough room to mount 2 tires side by side without blocking the tail lights) (Includes Jerry Can Base Plate, Apache Carrier Can be purchased Separately) 

Horizontal Jerry Can Mount (Dual Swing Out Only) (The test version on the single swing out was a bit bulky for our liking)  (Vertical Mount seen in picture will not be offered at this time) Can be Purchased Here

Hi-Lift Jack Mount (Mounts Behind the tire) 



  • You will be required to remove your factory hitch to mount this bumper.
  • You will need to remove the spare from its factory location, if it is left in the factory location it will sit lower than the rear bumper and may susceptible to trail damage. 
  • You will be required to cut the factory bumper side wings 
  • We recommend re-routing your exhaust in accordance with your local laws and regulations- to exit over the axle or  to the side of the vehicle as our high clearance bumper will expose the factory exit location and it will susceptible to trail damage. 
  • You will lose use of the rear camera, We are working a rear camera extension. In the meantime C4’s rear Camera relocation system should work. (Must Purchase Direct) 
  • You will have to disconnect your rear parking sensors if you are equipped with them
